I went to see Heidi on my 44th birthday as a special treat.  It was also 4 days after I ran the Seattle Quadzilla (4 marathons in 4 days).  I had just done my first short recovery run since the Quadzilla.  I was a little battered and definitely tight.  I was feeling a number of miscellaneous aches and pains.  I was a little curious about what the experience might be like as I wondered in to the downtown YMCA and asked at the front desk if this was the right place.  I was directed through a series of turns and corridors to the massage room.  I wandered past exercise machines, loud noises and finally into the pool.  I crossed across the pool and then stepped into the massage room.

The transformation was immediate.  Once Heidi shut the door, I was no longer in the downtown YMCA; I was immediately transported to a luxurious spa.  Everything was calm and soothing.  There were no gym noises, only quiet soothing music.  Heidi inquired about my needs and was very responsive.  She was able to feel areas that were tight and work them out.  She was great about checking to see that everything was going well.  She seemed to sense exactly what my tired and weary muscles needed.  Heidi gave me the best massage I have ever had.  I am sure it got me back running and feeling great faster than ever – in fact I did my next marathon less than a month later and felt great.

Ever since my first massage with Heidi, I have recommended her to everyone I know.  It was definitely the best massage I have ever had.  I would recommend Heidi to anyone who wants or needs a massage – from runners looking to loosen up to friends looking for a completely relaxing and luxurious experience.

Merita Trohimovich ~ 2011 Tacoma City Marathon Champion

I started seeing Heidi for massage shortly after winning the 2010 Tacoma City Marathon. She encouraged me to begin regular massage to help my muscles recover from workouts and races and to prevent injury. It only took a couple sessions for me to realize that she's absolutely right. Heidi's work is truly exceptional.

There was one session I came to her thinking I had bursitis in my hip and had a big Cross Country race the next day. I didn't think I would be able to race my hip hurt so bad. Heidi worked on both hips and found that I just had an extremely tight group of muscles. She was able to work the problem area and loosen it up so much that I was able to run pain-free the next day and made it onto the Club Northwest Club Cross Country Nationals team.

As a Brooks ID and Club Northwest sponsored elite athlete and 2012 Olympic trials marathon qualifier, I need to take extra care to prevent injury so that I can perform at my best. I've heard it said the difference between good athletes and great athletes is the ability to prevent injury. Heidi is definitely an integral part of my injury prevention team to help me become a great athlete.

I am literally in good hands with Heidi.

"After some years of success and ignoring my bodies aches and pains I finally broke and my body was just not performing as I wanted it to. I began visiting Heidi and a few weeks went by and I found myself in better shape than I had even hoped to be in at that point. By shape I mean physical health. Body felt good for once so I was able to train the way I needed to in order to meet my goals. I can honestly say that since working with Heidi I have been able to set PR's, win USA National Titles and recover in order to train and prepare for more competitions! Truly a blessing to have such a good Massage Therapist close to home."

As a longtime runner and new triathlete I started going to Heidi sometime around 2007 with hamstring issues.  I had National and World championships looming with growing tightness and pain in my hamstring.  After hearing about Heidi from other triathlete's, I started working with her on a regular basis.  She has managed to keep me healthy and on the roads doing what I love to do.  I continue to have regular sessions with Heidi whether I am hurting or not, her treatments have become an important element of my training.

Being a Triathlete / Marathoner means using a lot of different muscles a lot of the time. That also means some sore muscles too. Since meeting Heidi I have been getting massages more regular, I have found it speeds my recovery and works out any kinks I have. One time in-particular I came in to see Heidi with an injured calf, it had cramped up on me at mile 22 during the marathon. My running came to a standstill. I had several other Marathons scheduled in the fall. With Heidi’s help I was able to get back to training in no time and I made it through my fall marathons just fine!
Thanks Heidi!

I injured my left hamstring during the middle of my triathlon season in 2006 and could not run for 5 months. I started seeing Heidi for 30 minutes each week beginning in December of 2007 as I started to build my mileage. She worked with me and I had a successful 2007 triathlon season - qualifying for and competing on Team USA for the Short Course Age Group World Championships in September in Germany and the Half Ironman World Championships in November in Florida. Two qualities that stand out and make Heidi an effective massage therapist are that she listens to her clients and where they are feeling pain or tightness and she also remembers your body and areas that needed attention from previous sessions. She also has a very positive attitude and calming disposition. I used to think of massage therapy as just a treat that I enjoyed once a year. I now know massage therapy is an integral part of my training and Heidi has kept me training hard and racing fast.
